Potential Scholarship Candidates

To optimize your eligibility for UCLA prospective student scholarships, we advise you to follow these procedures. Applications for Scholarships, Both Incoming and Ongoing

UCLA scholarships will be applied to your account if you are awarded one.

To be eligible for undergraduate scholarships, you must submit an application annually through our scholarship portal.

UCLA sends a stewardship report, which usually includes a thank-you letter and the profile of the scholarship recipient or recipients, as a way of expressing its gratitude to donors. We require each recipient of a donor-funded scholarship to complete a scholar profile in order to show the significance of the support from donors. The scholar profile questions are available in your Scholarship Portal for scholarship recipients to access. You will receive a link to a post-acceptance questionnaire once you accept your scholarship award, and our office will forward it to your donor. You might occasionally get a different link from UCLA employees.      keeping your Chancellor's Blue and Gold Scholarship eligibility

In 1998, the Chancellor's Blue and Gold Scholarship Program was established to honor the scholastic accomplishments of first-year students from LA County High Schools, which have historically sent a small number of students to UCLA.

Approximately 200 students are currently supported by the program, which has been consistently successful for many years. Awards can reach $5,000, depending on the student's need for financial assistance.

• To keep your status as a Chancellor's Blue and Gold Scholar, you have to apply for the California Dream Act or file the FAFSA by the deadline of March 2 every year. Your scholarship will be terminated if you don't make the deadline.
• You must file the Late Financial Aid application in order to have your appeal evaluated for a timely approval and to have your scholarship restored.

• According to UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships, scholars must continue to make satisfactory academic progress.

Any change in the family's financial situation must be reported to Financial Aid and Scholarships by the scholars.

Retaining Regents Scholarship eligibility

One of the greatest awards given to a student at the University of California is the Regents Scholarship Program, which was founded by the Regents in 1962. Recipients of the Regents Scholarship are chosen based on their extraordinary promise, leadership skills, and record of academic achievement.

There are currently about 300 Regents Scholars enrolled at UCLA, with up to 75 scholarships awarded annually to both entering and transfer students.

The UCLA campus is the only location for the UCLA Regents Scholarship program. This implies that neither the prize nor any other UC campus Regents Scholarship recipient may be honored at UCLA. It is strictly nontransferable. All campuses work independently to choose the Regents Scholars.

Benefits of Scholarship:

• Regardless of need, all Regents Scholars are eligible for a $2,000 honorarium.

• Commencing with your second quarter and going forward, you receive PRIORITY ENROLLMENT. Every Regents Scholar is entitled to FACULTY MENTORSHIP, which is established by the Regents Scholar Society, as well as GUARANTEED HOUSING and PARKING, provided that their applications are submitted by the deadlines specified by the Housing Office and Parking Office, respectively.

• The Regents Scholar Society is open to all Regents Scholars. It is recommended that you become a member of this recognized student organization on campus.

  Scholarship initiative:

• The annual need-based Regents Scholarship is intended to augment the Cal Grant A and B programs, Pell Grants, and other external scholarship awards.

• Every year at the conclusion of the Spring Quarter, the Scholarship Coordinator will conduct an academic review of each scholar. If a student doesn't follow the scholarship guidelines, they risk having their scholarship terminated and possibly charged.

• Regents Scholars are not permitted to change schools within UCLA in order to maintain their scholarship. Every school chooses its Regents Scholars in a unique way. For example, the School of Arts, Architecture, Theatre & Film, and Music chooses its scholars primarily on the basis of their creative portfolios. Students will be chosen by the School of Engineering and the College of Letters & Science according to their academic standing.

     How would you respond to an external scholarship offer?

In the event that an outside donor awards you a scholarship, take these three actions:

• Make requests for UC Regents to receive payment for outside scholarship checks.

• Give your nine-digit UID (UCLA Identification Number) to the donor and request that they enclose it with your recognition.

• When the scholarship check is sent to UCLA, ask the donor to enclose a letter outlining the terms of the award. If you receive an award from an outside scholarship, be sure to include it on your Financial Aid Notification (FAN) or get in touch with the Financial Aid and Scholarships office.
