In Ondo, a man kills a friend while trying a bulletproof charm.

The Ondo State Police Command announced on Friday that Bode's trial had started for the murder of Tunde Akinmoyewa in Laoso Village in the state's Ondo West Local Government Area with a dane gun.

The 27-year-old man, who was described as an ex-convict, was reportedly shot dead by his companion last Tuesday when the two were testing a brand-new locally-made firearm.

A source, however, said that the victim was killed by his friend while they were testing a bulletproof charm in the village.

According to the source, Tunde urged his friend Bode to shoot him first in order to gauge the charms' potency. After being shot by Tunde's companion, who had picked him up, the man abruptly collapsed and passed away.

The culprit fled the scene when he realized what had transpired before the neighbors arrived and has not been apprehended.

The victim was brought to the nearest hospital in the village as soon as he was shot, where his death was verified, according to the source.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state police public relations officer, stated that the command had started an inquiry into the case and that attempts were being made to apprehend the culprit.

She stated, "One Tunde Akinmoyewa, an ex-convict and cultist, was unintentionally shot by one of his lads named Bode, whose last name is still unknown, while testing a locally produced gun thought to have recently been acquired. As a result, he passed away while being sent to the hospital for treatment.

While efforts to apprehend the culprit are in full swing, the deceased's remains have been placed in the mortuary.
