Underrepresented minority students who intend to enroll at Seattle University or the University of Washington may apply for the Costco Scholarship Fund. The fund was created to give eligible minority students access to financial aid for their studies.

The criteria used to offer scholarships is financial need. Candidates must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be of African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino, or Pacific Islander descent. Recipients of scholarships must be first-year college students.

In addition, applicants must be enrolled full-time, complete 36 credits in a school year, and maintain a 2.0 or higher grade point average. The scholarship has a four-year renewable period.

Costco provides funding to the scholarship fund, which was established in 2000. More than 1,000 students have benefited from the program, which has generated $25 million in scholarship funds. A membership-based warehouse shopping club with a large selection of goods is Costco Wholesale Corporation. In addition to being the biggest membership-based warehouse club business in the United States, Costco was the second-biggest retailer in the country and the third-biggest worldwide as of 2014.

Each year, in September, is the deadline for this scholarship, and the amount awarded 

is often between $2,500 to $14,500.
